BIG GAME FISHING AZORES

Trip Description

 

 

Spend a great time out on the water's of São Miguel island and feel the adrenaline on a big game fishing trip departing from Ponta Delgada to try your hand at capture the massive fish that pass by on their migration route of thousands miles through the Atlantic Ocean. Blue Marlin, White Marlin, Albacore Tuna, Bigeye Tuna, Wahoo and Mahi-Mahi are just some of the most iconic ones. Once on board, you will have everything you need for a memorable fishing trip – reels, rods, lures – you name it! All gear is included. After a briefing from your Captain, you will be ready for start fishing just few minutes after we leave back the harbor since the seabed around the island is full of fishing banks that rises from de very deep 800+ mts very close in. You will also be provided with drinks and a light meal as sandwiches/pizza (Full day trips) while out on the sea.

Blue Marlin - The average size of the Blue Marlin is around 500lbs but we already had captured some with 600lbs and 800lbs. We are still looking to capture a "grander" (>1000 lbs) that could be on your trip so don't miss your chance! In 2017 we captured and released the first Blue of the season in all Azores islands in July 3th with 650lbs.  

White Marlin -  Smaller than the Blue Marlin with sizes around 60 lbs but so energetic that won't give for free the fight until the end. In 2016 season our catch average was 4 to 5 in just one trip but we also had in a 4 hours trip 0 of 18 strikes... We will see that white marlin once again! 

Tunas - The most common Tuna is the Bigeye with sizes around 150lbs but we already captured some with 250+ lbs. In 2013 we caught 6 Bigeyes with 4 of them hooked at the same time and the biggest weighed 265 lbs... all of this in a 4 hours trip, Crazy!
